Iran to Stop Any Negotiation If Israel Avoids Withdrawal from Lebanon
Information obtained by Tasnim indicates that if Article 1 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the US and Iranian presidents is not met, any negotiations between Iran and the US on all other subjects will be stopped.
Article 1 of the MoU says, “The Islamic Republic of Iran and The United States of America and their allies in the current war are signing this MOU to declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon and other provisions of this paragraph.”
According to Tasnim information, this is a clear agenda that no action should be taken by Iran without implementing all the provisions necessary to start negotiations, and specifically observing Article 13.
According to Article 13, “After signing this MOU, and subject to the beginning of the implementation of paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 10 and 11 of this MOU, and the continuing implementation of these measures, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America will start negotiations regarding the final deal exclusively on the other paragraphs.”
Some analyses indicate that by delaying in negotiations and leaving Israel’s hands free in Lebanon, the US intends to prevent Iran from taking tough measures against Israel and the US as part of an effort to manage time in favor of the Zionist regime of Israel.
But, Iran will enter the phase of tough reaction given the continuation of Israel’s occupation and crimes in Lebanon.
